RoHS Compliancy

The RoHS directive stands for "Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This directive will ban the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing higher than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. The RoHS directive is effective as of July 1, 2006. It is designed to protect human life as well as nature and wildlife.

Customers who require RoHS compliant parts should communicate this clearly on all verbal and written communication when requesting product specifications, pricing, product availability and must communicate it in writing at the time of order placement. Please DO NOT rely on mailed (posted) purchase order acknowledgements to communicate important order requirements as product is often shipped before hard copy documentation reaches and is processed by Budwig Company Inc.
